2017 RUNNER-UP BRYNTESSON ANNOUNCES LATE EURO RX ENTRY
Sunday 17th of March 2019
Norway’s Thomas Bryntesson will challenge for honours in the FIA European Rallycross Championship this season in a Marklund Motorsport Volkswagen Polo.
Bryntesson will race in all six rounds of Euro RX, with five rounds supporting FIA World Rallycross Championship events and an additional Euro RX only round at Estering. Winner of the Loheac Euro RX round in 2017, Bryntesson will return to his own TBRX team this year, after driving for the team to race victories in the RX2 International Series in 2015 and 2016. “I’m happy to announce that I will compete in the European Rallycross Championship this year. We will run our own team, TBRX, but with support from Marklund Motorsport. I’m really looking forward to this season with a new car and my ‘old’ team. It’s difficult to say what is a realistic goal since we will do a lot ourselves, but I hope to fight for the podium in the Championship,” he commented.

Driving for JC Raceteknik, Bryntesson finished second in Euro RX in 2017 and scooped the RallyX Nordic title, and was fourth in Euro RX last season with a Ford Fiesta. He has raced a Marklund Motorsport Volkswagen Polo before, when he made his World RX debut with the team at Rosario in Argentina in 2015. “We are really happy that Thomas have chosen to try to claim the Euro RX title in a Marklund Motorsport Polo. We will support his team in every way we can,” said Marklund Motorsport Team Principal Jan Marklund.
The permanent Euro RX entry list was revealed earlier this week. The first round will take place at Silverstone in the UK as part of the Speedmachine Festival in May.
