OMSE MAKES PROGRESS IN HELL AHEAD OF HOME EVENT
Former FIA World Rallycross Championship Teams’ Champions Olsbergs MSE achieved its best result of the season so far at the World RX of Norway last weekend, with both drivers, Kevin Eriksson and Robin Larsson, qualifying for the semi-finals.
OMSE has been working hard on the development of its new 2018 Ford Fiesta ST Supercar in the first half of the season and took a step forward in performance with a test session in Sweden before Hell RX last weekend, where Eriksson and Larsson finished ninth and 10th in the 23-car field. The next round takes place at Holjes in Sweden, OMSE’s home event.
"The car took a big step forward in Norway, which shows all the hard work we are putting in is beginning to pay off. The package is coming together and this puts us in a promising position for Holjes, where the Fiesta should be very strong,” said the former World RX of Germany winner, Eriksson. “The loud home support alone will be worth those precious few tenths and I go there with a clear target to reach the final, and from there anything is possible!
Larsson’s semi-final appearance in Hell was his third of the season, but the 2014 FIA European Rallycross Champion has never been lucky at Holjes, with a best finish of eighth in 2016. The former World RX of Argentina winner is aiming to finish the first half of the 2018 season by making the final at his home round. “It was a trouble-free and competitive weekend in Hell, one that puts us in a positive frame of mind for the big one next up at Holjes,” he said. “With the car improving each time it heads out on track, it’s gratifying to know we are closing the gap on the manufacturers ahead. We will be right in the hunt for the final at Holjes, a track we know very well and where the Fiesta should excel."
